Now I have to learn how to use it. I’ve been wanting one for a while, I’m middle aged and it cheaper than a Corvette . Should be fun. Price was right.

Do you have a decent amp to go with it, or is that the next purchase?

I’m jealous! I’ve lusted after a Godin for years, but I just haven’t been able to justify the purchase.

It’s never too late. Famous tennis coach Vic Braden said : “If you start playing tennis at age 70, the USTA has a tournament for players 90 and over. That means you have 20 years to practice.”
You might consider taking a private lesson or two. I have colleagues who teach adult lessons for those who just want to learn. Good luck!

Thanks! We have a really good music school here in our little town. They do both adult and kids lessons.
I figured I would give it a go.

New venture for me. Not looking to be BB King in two years. Just want to give it a try.

Yeah, the prettiness didn’t hurt the impulse buy.

Even more so than with cars, buying used is your friend.
Ideally you’d have a knowledgeable guitarist you know who could help out in person , but barring that, see if there’s an amp repair place nearby. Most of these places are small local types that live and die by their reputation. They may have a few gems fo r sale, or at least be able to help you figure out what you’d need. If you’re totally new, don’t bother with guitar center salesmen. They’re all commissioned and will try selling you the shirt on your back.
My one recommendation is to not over do it in terms of size and power. Just to give you an idea, I’ve got a 5 watt blackstar tube amp that would get the cops called on me in a heartbeat if I turned the volume past 3. My 100 watt Marshall TSL with two 12"’s? Same deal, but maybe 1.5 on the volume knob.

Not in the way of brand, but I say go to second hand shops, CL and eBay. Stay small and portable so you can store it easily and cheap until you know this will be a real passion.

Sweet. I bought my son an acoustic guitar at a rummage sale for $20. He’s really taken to it and practices every night. He can play a few chords and wants to learn the opening part to Round About by Yes. I told him if he does that, my sisters would faint, as they are big Yes fans. Good luck. Have fun.

Have fun! There’s a guy named Brian Kelly on YouTube who’s an awesome beginner theory teacher. I found that he lays out music theory with very clear explanations. Have fun!

The Fender Mustang amps are great beginner practice amps. Does everything you’d want.

I’ve just bought a Fender Squire! Not quite as fancy as the guitar you bought, but still fun. Guitar is a fun hobby :)

It looks pretty much exactly like this:
Nothing too crazy , but hey, an electric guitar is an electric guitar.
